But having had almost two months to reflect on our wonderful wedding, I felt compelled to write a review about Amy, with the hopes that other couples would get a chance to experience her exceedingly rare combination of charm, friendliness, artistic talent, work ethic, and stunning photographs.We met Amy a couple of times. The first time, over drinks in Belltown, was enough to convince me that she was the photographer for us (we'd probably met with 5-10 other photographers by that point). I'm really picky about photography - Amy's portfolio immediately conveyed a talent simultaneously comfortable with documenting an event and capturing those moments and details in thoughtful, artistic, and beautiful ways. We immediately decided on her. First she came out and did our engagement photos. Being the groom-to-be, I wasn't necessarily comfortable getting photographed. Let me tell you -- Amy tromped around with us in Discovery park and the photos she captured are hands down my favorite photographs of us as a couple. I was impressed then by her professional attitude and willingness to go the extra mile (we literally tromped around in the woods). At the wedding, Amy was amazing. Her and her assistant captured everything about the event. They were professional, detail orientated, hard working, and incredibly proficient. I can honestly say that they made our wedding better. " -Rachel + Matt "My wife and I are impulsive kind of people and are pretty hands off. We read a good review of her on the knot.com and scheduled an appointment with her. We liked her so much we hired her on the spot. She was the first and last photographer we talked to. One of the reasons we chose her is because she was laid back and willing to go with the flow. We were less concerned with formal shots and more concerned about capturing the mood, feeling, beauty, and romance of our wedding. In other words, the last thing we wanted was to be trying to enjoy our day and have a photographer constantly in our face telling us to look this way or that way and hold my hand here. We wanted candid shots so we gave Amy all the room for artistic freedom she wanted. And man did she impress! We certainly did have some formal pictures that turned out top notch, but our favorite was all of the candid ones! What was great is that we never felt that she was in the way. We ordered the two carat package which was perfect! Although, it says 8 hours and two photographers we had Amy for 12 hours plus two additional photographers for at least 6 hours. That's a total of three photographers and 24 hours of labor in one day! She also did some great editing like removing backgrounds, cleaning up skin blemishes and red cheeks, editing text on a passing train, putting the flowers in color and everything else in black and white, black and white shots, sepia shots, and all kinds of fun poses. Between the three photographers everything that happened that day was well documented. We have over 2,000 photos and almost all of them are framable!We had a friend get married in the same the month as us and they spent $3,000. But they didn't own any of their wedding photos. They were given a website where they had to order and pay for the shots on top of the $3,000. We have the ability to take our photos to Costco and get them developed for cheap! Amy is one of the best photographers I have ever seen. She is worth far more than she charges. I also have to mention that her assistant whose name is [Adam}], was also a lot of fun and made some great shots. If you get the package with an assistant you should ask for him. She was amazing throughout the entire process. She traveled up to our location (1.5 hours north of Seattle) for our engagement and wedding pics. She arrived at 9AM to start taking pictures of us getting ready and stayed until 11PM when the party was wrapping up. The minute she got there, she went to work taking pictures of all the details. Whenever something was going on during the day, she was right there snapping away. She knew we were leaving for a 3 week honeymoon on the Tuesday after the wedding, so she worked hard and had a few teaser pics posted on her site 2 days afterwards. We just got the final proof book and DVD from her and the pictures are amazing.
