This Summer I was honored to be the photographer for my dear friend Erin’s wedding in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Erin and Nathan had a beautiful ceremony and reception in their own backyard. Adorned with wild flowers and mason jars, theirs was a simple but sweet affair attended by close friends and family. There was great music, fabulous Sangria, and lots of joy and laughter among old friends and new families.I was also fortunate to be able to work (and play) with the fabulous Sara Bauleke of Bella Notte Wedding Planning in Washington DC, who always does an amazing job at making the craziest of days look effortless. Sara is a college friend of Erin’s and I consider myself lucky to call her a friend myself these days.
Erin said this about their wedding day- “The thing we loved most about our wedding weekend was how friends and family chipped in to help set up the yard and make our wedding day come together. We have some very talented friends! And it was especially nice to have some extra time to hang out with our out of town guests. We felt very loved!”
I’m so happy that my good friend has found such a wonderful guy. I can honestly say that from the moment I met Nathan, at a friend’s wedding years ago, I knew he was special. These two were made for each other and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Oh, and if you’ve never been to Nanaimo, do yourself a favor and make a date, especially if you love the outdoors. I can’t believe I hadn’t been sooner and can’t wait until our next trip. It’s simply beautiful.
