Fair warning, you may want to take a moment to grab a glass of wine …I don’t care what time it is, no judgement… and get comfy. There’s a tremendous amount of pretty coming your way.
About two weeks ago I had the distinct pleasure of joining Jen and Aaron for their completely stunning wedding celebration in downtown Seattle. This was the type of wedding that the gorgeously classic Arctic Club was made for; gold and burgundy, ivory and lace, bow ties and her mother’s wedding dress. Absolute perfection. After a relaxed morning of hair and makeup by the very talented Stephanie Savidge, Jen shared her first look with Aaron on the iconic front steps of this historic hotel. I can never get enough of its timeless elegance and absolutely loved how it complimented the couples’ classic look to a tee. Following the first look we goofed around a bit with their fun wedding party, snapped the traditional formal family photos and then let them have a few moments with their close friends before heading in to sign the ketubah.
Once all of the official signing was done, the ceremony was underway. The Northern Lights Dome Room at the Arctic Club boasts of luxurious refinement echoing the post-Klondike gold rush days of the early 1900s and was such a perfect setting for this exquisite union. Their ceremony was a simple and heartfelt one; rings were exchanged, wine was sipped and vows were stated. Once the glass was broken, the couple shared their first kiss and then, hand-in-hand, jubilantly waltzed back down the aisle as husband and wife. While the ceremony was undoubtedly gorgeous, the rest of their day was just as beautiful thanks to Contemporary Floral and Rented Elegance helping to set the scene. Candlelit tables, a beautiful cake created by the folks at New Renaissance Cakes and awesome live music courtesy of Jazz Unlimited helped create a warm and inviting atmosphere for their guests. Jennifer also worked tirelessly to create and organize so many lovely little details for their families and friends, including the custom candles she made herself and the top shelf open bar they offered, which everyone always appreciates. 🙂
I think my favorite part of their reception was the hora. After cocktail hour, the couple was introduced into the ballroom and officially got the party started! Fun and often a bit unpredictable, the hora always allows for so many joyful and priceless moments. Note: if you’re wondering how to get everyone on the dance floor, this is how you do it. SO. MUCH. AWESOME. Their celebration continued into the evening with a fantastic dinner catered by the hotel and sweet toasts by their parents, Matron of Honor and Best Man, after which they shared their first dance together. When it was finally time for us to pack up and head home, everyone was still on the dance floor having a fantastic time and went on to enjoy the celebration of these two lovely families deep into the night.
So many thank yous go out to Jen and Aaron and their families. We had such a wonderful time and you made us feel like family. Mazel Tov to you all and best wishes for an epic future together!
xoxo, amy
