Hello once again!
So, it’s no secret that I love Januik Winery.ย I tell everyone I can anytime it comes up. The staff (Emily and Amanda I’m looking at you!), the food, the wine… it’s all stellar.ย And what photographer doesn’t love an amazing venue that’s less than 5 minutes from their home?ย I know, right?!ย So what could possibly make this venue even better?ย Turns out a lot of things…er…people.ย Today’s wedding was one of my very favorites from last year for a number of reasons, all of which lent more awesomeness to this already perfect venue.
First of all,ย you have to know that Sarah and Devin are just completely amazing people.ย I mean, it’s been like 6 months since their wedding and every time I see a really badass car I resist the urge to email Devin to ask if his ride has any new additions or if he’s started building that engine yet. Plus, don’t get me started on Sarah’s impressive weekly food prep!ย Trust me, it’s only a matter of time before we see her touting the health benefits of brussel sprout chips on her new A&E show, Smart Snacking with Sarah.ย Simply stated, I adore these two.ย They alone would have been enough to put this wedding over the top. But they then surrounded their wedding with a completely amazing dream team of other fantastic vendors!
Taylor’d Events and the lovely folks at AA Party Rentals created a beautiful scene in green and silver and donned the tables with what may be my favorite wedding food ever- french macarons from Lady Yum. Sarah and Devin aren’t “cake people” so they chose instead to have the artists over at Midori Bakery create some delish custom desserts. It’s always fun working with the video guys at Bogle and Adam is a master DJ,ย always keeping the music and party hoppin!
So, knowing there were a about a million amazing events that made up their epic day, I asked them to narrow down their favorite moments for me. This is what Devin told me: “We both think that the ceremony was the best part of the wedding. It felt magical and really set the tone for the rest of the wedding. We had our own personal vows that gave the ceremony a very personal touch. We also really enjoyed the shoe game – with our group of friends and the type of questions that were asked, it made for a really hilarious and memorable time. Adam (our DJ) did a great job posing questions and keeping it lively.”ย I’d have to agree, their ceremony was a tear-jerker and that shoe game was hysterical!
SO much love goes out to these two and their families and friends. Your wedding was such a joy to participate in and I know I haven’t seen the last of either of you.ย Beers at Redhook soon my dears and I hope by then you’ll have had the chance to enjoy The Brave Little Toaster.ย ๐
xoxo, Amy
