The Sunset Club Wedding in Seattle

Last month I had the pleasure of shooting Sarah and Nic’s classically romantic wedding. The couple were married in a traditional Catholic ceremony at Mary Queen of Peace in Sammamish before heading to Seattle for a beautiful reception at the historic Sunset Club in Seattle. Choosing not to see each other before the ceremony, Sarah and Nic opted instead for a sweet father-daughter first look as well as a pre-wedding prayer together while both hidden from view. Once Sarah came down the aisle, it was clear that Nic was elated at the sight of his soon-to-be bride. I loved the overwhelming look of joy on his face seeing her for the first time. 🙂 After a touching ceremony, the couple rushed back down the aisle happy as ever. Seriously, the love between these two is truly palpable.

From there we were off to the reception, held at the uniquely elegant Sunset Club. Erected in 1915 by women from some of Seattle’s most prominent families, this exclusive Georgian-style clubhouse was originally created with the purpose of “promoting the social and intellectual welfare of its members.” Over the century the organization has maintained its purpose of helping the community and educating its members while at once staying progressive and maintaining its heritage as a place of gracious elegance. And boy, does this place exude elegance; from the finely decorated sitting rooms to the gala ballroom festooned with ornate wall paper and charming chandeliers, this venue is truly one takes you back to a more refined time. Using this one-of-a-kind space as a palette, Midori Bakery created an absolutely breathtaking cake for the occasion and Fena Flowers designed stunning arrangements to compliment the space and attire. All of this would not have been possible without the dedication and attention to detail by Jennifer Taylor with Taylor’d Events Group.  Jen oversaw the entire event from start to finish and on the day of was there with her assistant Alex to make sure everything went off without a hitch. It was a glorious day.

Sarah and Nic, your love is clearly one for the ages and we were so incredibly honored to be there to capture all of the beauty of the start of your married lives together.  Much love to you both and your lovely families for many years to come! xx, Amy
